The University of Virginia Medical Center will do head and neck cancer screening and provide smoking cessation education;
• The American Cancer Society will do skin damage assessment with their Derma Scan machine;
• Lord Fairfax Community College will bring dental hygiene students for oral cancer screening;
• The Flint Hill Rescue Squad will be doing blood pressure and heart. screenings, as well as measuring weight and taking health histories;
• Warren Memorial Hospital will be doing body mass index calculations;
• And, there will be many others.
The Health Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also, at the high school, from 9:30 until 11:30, the Aging Tbgether Rappahannock County Elder Care Coalition will be holding their Aging Ibgether Community Conversation. This is the third annual “Community Conversation on Aging.” During the conversation, the Aging Ibgether staff will report on the progress in the last year and listen to the concerns and suggestions of those in the community. It is expected that participants will also take part in the Health Fair. And, in usual Rappahannock fashion, there will be food.
