Then, Rappahannock left the tournament in search of a place to eat. When the Panthers returned about 26 minutes later with their lunches in tow, they learned that they had to return to competition.
“We had four minutes to eat after having to walk across the road to find food,” Palmer said. “It was really annoying and unexpected.”
Mathews, meanwhile, had more than an hour to rest and eat between matches.
Vickers believes that if Rappahannock had received proper time to eat and rest, the outcome might have been different.
“It’s just frustrating, but it’s not our fault,” he added. “We should have been given an hour.”
