A Culpeper Grand Jury came back with a five count indictment against Ricky Javon Gray, 29, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 after hours of deliberation.
The first charge was capitol murder, followed by arson, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and abduction.
Gray is accused of the December 18, 2005 murder of Sheryl Ann “Sherri” Warner, 37, a legal secretary and mother of three in Culpeper. Warner, who worked for a time and was well known in Rappahannock County. was found shot and hanged with an electrical cord in the basement of her Reva home, which had been set on fire.
Gray was previously charged with the lesser offense of first degree murder and plead not guilty, but that charge was
