player, but the news could be a bit better in my case. Of the two spots they removed, one was benign and the other one came back with a pathology report of malignant melanoma. That’s not too good.
As you might imagine, my life has been a bit crowded with doctor visits since that report came back. I wont bore you with the details, but there are a lot of bases that need to be touched, with x-rays and visits to the surgeon’s office and the ophthalmologist. Standard procedure seems to be to check the lungs and the optic nerve, as those are two places this form of cancer can show up.
They are going to be taking a pretty good chunk out of my right forearm next week, but the sturgeon is optimistic enough that they will not be doing biopsies of lymph nodes, at tins point. They will wait for the pathology of the tissue removed during the surgery before taking further action. I think that is pretty good news.
And ain’t this a kick in the pants: My bride had rotator cuff surgery Monday, and will be laid up (in a sling) for several weeks, with a month or two of physical therapy after that. It’s going to get interesting around here while we are each trying to take care of the other one. I am a terrible patient. That is certifiable.
And I am ready for spring. Honestly, I wanted one decent snowfall, not 3 or 4 inches of ice. But, I am tired of the cold weather and I am out of dry locust firewood, and I need to get the ashes up. Take care, and let’s hope the ground hog was right, and spring is just around the comer.
Finally, thanks to all the wonderful and generous people who turned out for the breakfast at the fire hall a couple weeks ago. The church made a pretty good haul, and it will all go to Relay for Life. You folks are the best
