“We’re paying our part of Verizon and they deserve to give us service,” she said. “It’s not like something can’t be done. The lines just need to be updated.”
Rim Bealle, who runs D&K Design from her home, said she has logged countless hours talking to Verizon service representatives, but it has not seemed to make much progress.
“I have been dealing with these problems for five years, and it has radically affected my business,” she said; “I would estimate that about half the time, I don’t have phone service.”
Fbr her publication and Web design business, Bealle deals with local customers as well as some that live in Charlottesville and the Washington, D.C., area.
“The local customers have some understanding for why they can’t get a hold of me by phone,” she said. “The people in the D.C. area think I’m in some backward place.”
