The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community is sponsoring the first production of the newlyformed Rappahannock Repertory Company. There will be nine performances, the last three weekends of June at Cliff and Lucile Miller’s SchoolHouse in Sperryville.
Directed by Charlene James-Duguid the play presents actors of all ages from throughout the community. Students from the Rappahannock schools have been in classes and rehearsals since March, committing their talents to the production. Over 30 performers, dancers, and stage combatants explore the themes of Power, Love, Humor, and Fantasy in the work of William Shakespeare. The majority of the actors are a part of the Young Actors Wing of RRC, ranging in age from 6 to 18 years of age.
Set in the framework of the inspiration of Muses including Dance, Poetry, Comedy and Tragedy, ‘ which is choreographed by Kitty Keyser, excerpts from Shakespeare’s plays come alive as young actors portray many familiar, as well as, lesser-known characters. Romeo and Juliet,
