Author Larry Buttram will be on hand Saturday fone 16, at 2:00 p.m. to discuss his latest book, 'The Greatest Gift.’' A collection of short stories, the title story is about Stephanie Renner, a six year old who is diagnosed with a fetal ilness. She asks to be taken to the top of Mount Everest so she can be closer to heaven and talk to Jesus. In desperation her parents take he to The Greatest Gift Foundation, an organization which grants sick chldren their last request The foundation’s rfredor has never failed a child before but is now being asked to do the impossfoie. The story tetts how he responds. In addition to his first book of short stories, the author has aiso written False Witness md Honor Thy Sister, mysteries set in Tennessee, his native state, in the 1960s and 70s.

Institution’s Museum Conservation Institute near Washington, D.C., and expert co-author of the book “Saving Stuff: How to Care for and Preserve 'four Most Cottectibles, Heirlooms, and Other Prized Possessions.* In this presentation, "Presenring Personal Heritage” Mr. Williams wi dfecuss the opportunities and challenges of preserving family and community treasures. Almost everyone has some items with special value for them whether these are personal mementos, inherited tamily heirlooms, or valued investments. In “Saving Stuff,” Don shows how you can effectively preserve your own treasures without going to extreme efforts and expense.
