She sometimes recruited her younger sisters Megan, 16, and Sarah, 14, for plays she would perform at the family’s home. “She’s always enjoyed performing, even as a kid she enjoyed performing on stage in front of folks,” her father said. “She’s at home on stage,” added her mother, Barbara. “She can be as nervous as anything, and if she can get in front of people she’ll be OK.” Laura plans to pursue her passion for acting, singing and dancing at Shenandoah University next fall She applied to 13 colleges and auditioned for 10. She chose Shenandoah for its small-school atmosphere and conservatory, as well as its proximity to Rappahannock. “Shenandoah is the one she always kind of hoped she would be accepted to,” her father said.
