Covington took the Executive Director position last year after serving as the RCES Principal for three years.
“I thought it would be something that I would like to do, but the job wasn’t fit for me,” said Covington about his career move. Covington said that he wanted to go back to being a principal and missed the daily contact with teachers, students, and parents. “I consider myself a people person,” he added. “I don’t see too many people behind a desk.”
Covington has been hired to serve as the principal of the Wetsel Middle School in Madison County. “It’s a job that I love and enjoy and I'm going to be happy to be going back,” said Covington who added that he will still miss the people of Rappahannock County. “I feel fortunate to have worked here and I am leaving a wonderful school system,” he said.
