June 14: TRIAD signing
The Office of Attorney General Robert F. McDonnell, and Sheriff Sherertz and Major WiBams invite you to attend a formal signing of tie TRIAD Partnership for Rappahannock County. TRIAD is a cooperative agreement between seniors and law enforcement, and interested groups, working together to develop, expand and implement effective cnme prevention and safety programs for older Virginians. The signing wi be held on June 14, Thursday at 1 pm. at the Washington Fire Hal.
According to the Federal Artninistration on Aging, while senior citizens currently account for 15 percent of the national population, they are victims in 30 percent of al fraud cases. TRIAD SALT. Councils (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) are busy year-round building crime-fighting relationships between older citizens and their focal law enforcement representatives. Both groups benefit the community by sharing goals, desires, information and resources. Through the TRIAD program, the Sheriffs Office, and the Rappahannock County seniors wi work togettier to better understand foe issues facing the elderty and what can be done to reduce scams and victimization.
Under tie TRIAD program gukteines, focal group leaders form a SALT council.
Members wi focus on topics such as avoidng criminal victimization, and increasing irwofoement in neighborhood watch, fraud, scam warnings, and elder abuse prevention. Following the signing, a meeting wi be held for al seniors, officials and county residents interested in being part of foe proyam.
