The Rappahannock School Board adopted revised teacher evaluation procedures at last week’s meeting that, according to chairman Beverly Massie, include many of the changes uggested by teachers who served on evaluation committees from the elementary and high schools.
Initially scheduled for adoption at the December meeting, evaluation procedures were tabled until the January 9 School Board session to give teachers who had served on the committees further opportunity to comment in writing on proposals. However, none of the specific revisions suggested by the teachers were adopted by the Board on Tuesday.
Teachers had asked that all employees be notified orally and in writing of findings within two weeks following a formal observation.
