the first place? Three years ago Mary's husband of 30 years died of a heart attack. There were no children or family to give her emotional support and help her readjust to life. Consequently, Mary went into a severe depression and needed to be hospitalized. After 6 months of treatment, she was ready to leave, but had no family or friends to take her in.
Mary receives social security checks and could pay her way but she is not in the community and cannot look for a home. It would also be a mistake for her to try to live completely alone at first.
Mary needs a room to rent. Perhaps, a boarding home situation, where she could have the companionship of others, or a room with a foster family could allow her to return to normal life.
