Graveside services for Mrs. Miriam Williamson West. 77, of Charlottesville were held Jan. 11 in Woodville Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Jennings Hobson.
Mrs. West died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1979 at her residence.
She was a native of Lexington, 111., the daughter of the late Dr. William T. and Miriam Richter Williamson.
Surviving is her sister-inlaw, Mrs. W. R. Williamson, of Woodville.
Scientists believe wild dogs were the first animals to be tamed by people—at least 12,000 years ago. The first wild dog to be tamed probably was a wolf, and it is believed that most pet dogs are its descendants.
