Bloomer said that the number of new and probationary teachers would have a definite impact on how many observations could be done in the first semester on continuing contract personnel. He noted that “the time factor may prohibit” observations on all continuing contract teachers early in the year.
The School Board also agreed to stick with the current wording in the policy manual that calls for teachers to “know the home environment” of pupils rather than change the wording to “attempt to know” as requested by the teachers. In addition, they denied the teacher’s request to insert “reasonable” in the section that states teachers will accept additional tasks willingly.
