A puzzling contradiction of sorts to Virginia’s improved driving record is the startling number of fatalities over major holiday periods. In 1978, 109 persons were killed during the holiday periods of Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years compared to 67 in 1977.

There are many Rappahannock County sheep producers who should file an application for payment under the Wool Incentive Payment Program. Receipts are needed ’ for shorn wool and unshorn lambs that are sold in 1978. These receipts should be brought to the Rappahannock County ASCS Office immediately following the completion of all 1978 sales.
