Mary is a hypothetical case but represents a stark reality. People like Mary really exist. The Mental Health Center is attempting to solve these kinds of problems but needs support from civic minded individuals; not to give charity, but to be willing to rent to people like Mary and to put in a personal touch. Group homes, foster homes, and boarding homes run by flexible, interested persons could mean the difference between institutionalization and staying in the community.
