Bob Jewell, head of the state department of secondary accreditation, is “surprised there’s so much ruckus’’ in Rappahannock over the accrediation status of the county high school, according to E. P. Luke, chairman of the board of supervisors.
Luke made his remarks at a special meeting held Tuesday to review the school board budget and capital outlay proposals. Originally scheduled for 2 p.m. in the court house, the meeting was moved to the basement of the new clerk’s office because of conflicts with court session. A large turnout of approximately 150 parents and students forced a second move to the Episcopal Church parish hall.
