Rick Johnson, speaking for the members of Save Our School, said the group’s major concern was clearing up the accreditation situation and working to institute more courses at the high school. “We're getting by on the very bare minimum of courses," he maintained, citing the lack of any language besides French. He also advocated expanding the building trades program to better prepare graduates to find jobs. He blamed the drop-out rate at the high school partially on the lack of interest among students who feel that RCHS doesn't prepare them to enter the working world.
Sharon Settle, another high school student, told the supervisors they were mislead if they thought the students’ greatest concern was storage space. “Although we would like to see the toilet paper moved out of Mr. Wingfield's office,” she added.
