Trail Ride
Planned
The Blue Ridge Competitive Trail Ride will be held Tuesday, May 27. The 35-mile ride will begin at Dave and Pam Marshall's Edgeworth Farm near Orlean and wind through trails into Rappahannock County.
Halfway through the ride there will be a 45 minute lunch break and at regular intervals throughout the seven-hour riding time, veterinarians and pulse and respiration teams will check all horses for fitness. In addition, horses will be thoroughly vetted on Saturday before the ride and again one hour after completion of the 35 miles. Competitors will be scored on the basis of condition, soundness, manners and way of going of their mounts.
