In talking to his classmates at Lynchburg College, Andy said, he’d found that most of the college graduates with teaching certificates wouldn’t consider coming to a school system “as limited” as Rappahannock’s. “Most of the good education majors are just going to say ‘Forget it!’...You’ve got to show a little quality before you get quality in teachers,” he maintained.
Noting that there is no additional space in RCHS for expanded course offerings, Sean Kilpatrick asked where an additional language class would be housed if there was sufficient student interest to introduce Spanish. “I don’t know where my good friend Mr. Wood (supervisor and orchardist H. B. Wood) finds people to trim his apple orchards. They’re not many trained here,” said Kilpatrick.
