The wedding of Miss Roberta Elizabeth Moffett and Clyde Arthur Baker took place at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Norfolk, on Saturday, May 5, 1979. The Rev. Forrest Bergeron, Jr. performed the double ring ceremony at six o’clock.
Fashioned from the era of the French Empire, the bride’s ivory gown featured a full Watteau train. The bodice of imported and reembroidered Alencon lace had a sheer yoke of Brussells lace and seed pearls. Her veil of ivory silk illusion was arranged from a lace and braided Camelot headpiece. She wore a seed pearl cross which belonged to her greatgreat grandmother and carried a bouquet of ivory roses, frezia, carnations and heather.
She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Brooke Miller Moffett of Norfolk and the granddaughter of Mrs. Bertie Lib Moffett of Washington. She is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is employed as Fiscal Management Assistant of the Norfolk Redevelopment & Housing Authority.
