“It’s unfortuante that the| emphasis has been put^HM; accreditation since it appears that the State Board of Education will bend over backwards and fall down to avoid taking it away,” commented Sharon Kilpatrick. She urged the supervisors to think about the needs of the school system rather than aiming to meet minimum state standards.
“The school has been providing all that it can in the space available,” said Joyce Foster. She told the supervisors that she was currently taking Art IV in a room with three other classes. “I plan on making my career in art,” she said, adding that she could go no further in courses offered at RCHS.

Pat Helmer added that she’d visited the high school recently and found Joyce “in the middle of the hall with her art project because there was no room in the class.” She also noted that the building trades class was currently meeting in a storage closet “with no room, no ventilation and no heat.”
Ron Wiley reported that a school board member allegedly maintained the county couldn't have a school capital outlay project that caused taxes to go up or he’d have to sell a portion of his land. “That makes no difference to me,” said Wiley. “What’s more important? That he has to sell a little
