Bloomer also told the board members that the non functioning school warning lights in front of RCHS had been removed by the highway department. He explained that the supplier from whom replacement lights had been ordered was unable to promise a definite delivery date. Due to the delay in i delivery. Bloomer said the highway department had | okayed repairing the old ! lights, even though they are | obsolete, if repairs could be accomplished faster than installation of new lights.
Evaluation of school board goals and objectives set at the beginning of the year was tabled and will be taken up at a second meeting in May along with evaluation of administration personnel.
In other action, Bloomer announced that Allied Exterminators of Culpeper had been awarded the contract for pest control treatment at both schools on the basis of a low bid of $1,600.
After Bloomer reported a bid of $7,000 for calibration and other maintenance work on the elementary school’s heating system, the board requested that he secure additional estimates before the June board meeting. Mrs. Massie suggested that any unspent funds left in June from the current school budget be earmarked for this project.
