More Destruction
The tornado continued around the base of Red Oak Mountain. Around Long Mountain behind Washington was a trail of twisted, downed trees. Years later coon hunters could track the path of the tornado by the scars left on nature.
Will Griffith at Rock MUls saw every building on his property destroyed, including the family’s home. His daughter, Mrs. Louis (Annie) Moore, now living in Flint Hill, saw pictures of the damage, “The car was turned upside down and a lard can ended up on the car axle.”
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Corbin were living in the tenant house on a farm south of Ben Venue. Mrs. A. H. (Anne) Keyser recalls Mrs. Corbin relating the experience of that day.
