Graveside memorial services for Alton Parker Johnson, Sr. of Glendale, Ariz. will be held Sunday, May 20 at 2:30 p.m. in the family cemetery on the farm of Cary G. Thornhill, Sr. near Boston.
Mr. Johnson, 75, formerly of Clearwater, Fla., died February 2, 1979 in Phoenix, Ariz. A native of Culpeper, he was the son of the late Izaak J. and Jane Thornhill Johnson. He was a former sergeant in the United States Marines.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Marie Streater Johnson; one son, Alton Johnson, Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Frank Chriseell of Clearwater, Fla.; two brothers, George W. Johnson of Baltimore, Md. and John Dallas Johnson of Fayetteville, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren and an uncle, Cary G. Thornhill of Boston. Geest Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
