“Not Guilty.”
That was the verdit returned by a Rappahannock jury that deliberated eight hours before deciding at 12:30 a.m. early Saturday morning that Diane Elizabeth Kidwell acted in self defense when she shot and killed Ranee Spellman last November 9.
“Needless to say, my family and I are extremely pleased and happy with the outcome of this trial,” said Kidwell, a mother and grandmother who spent her 44th birthday in the courtroom last week.
