Dr. and Mrs. Edgar Browning of Charlottesville were Saturday guests of their mother, Mrs. John S. Browning and had dinner at the Corner Post Restaurant.

The Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the United Methodist Church met on Monday, October 17, at the home of Mrs. Wade Pullen. Mrs. Barbara Gentry led the study class. Others present were Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Evelyn Walker, Mrs. Flo Duvall, Mrs. Mary Bywaters, Mrs. Russie Miller, Mrs. Mary Brady, Mrs. Linda Miller, Mrs. Piggy Russell, Mrs. Fisher Burford and Mrs. Mabel Lillard.

Mrs. Moffett Brady spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Crane at Lanham, Md. They accompanied her home on Saturday and spent the weekend here. Also joining them for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McCulloch of Falls Church. They all attended the homecoming services at the Methodist Church on Sunday.

Mrs. Frank Spalding with Mrs. W. J. Kendrick, Jr. of Roanoke spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Spalding, Jr. at Aikin, South Carolina. After returning to Roanoke Mrs. Apalding was accompanied home by Mrs. Kendrick and Mrs. Mary H. Lea of Bedford, who spent last week here with her.
