Two suspects in the Labor Day weekend State Police marijuana air search were sentenced in general district court Tuesday.
Represented by Orange attorney Samuel P. Higginbotham. Joseph and Madeline Ferguson of Woodville pled guilty to the reduced charge of possession of marijuana, received a 30 day suspended sentence and were fined $100 plus court costs.
The charges were reduced from possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture and the sentence suspended on the condition that the Fergusons would pay their fines and costs within 30 days and would stay on good behavior for 12 months. The offense was thus reduced to a simple misdemeanor.
The Fergusons were arrested on August 30 after state police helicopters swooped low over the county in part of a statewide aerial surveillance to crackdown on homeerown crons
