To the editor:
In its October 13 news story on the political candidates’ forum, the Rappahannock News stated that Bob Evans, who questioned David Konick about his conduct following the slaying of Ranee Spellman by his thenclient, Diane Kidwell, is '’reportedly a friend and former employee of Saltonstall’s.”
Bob Evans has never been in my employ. He is president of his own company in Manassas. At the time of Ranee’s death, he was known to me only as the provider of services and parts to trucks and vehicles used on my farm. He and his charming family visited Ranee at my farm one afternoon in 1981, and last year, unknown to Ranee or me, purchased property in Rappahannock County.
Evans did not learn of Ranee’s death until weeks later and thus missed his funeral. Had I known him as a friend at that time, I would have remembered to contact him about the funeral.
