1 can distinctly remember these words from my mother. Oh! How they anger me! But. yes. my brother, yes, he's the cause of all this. He couldn't help it, though. It wasn't his fault. But it was — he was so good in school, in sports, in EVERYTHING! I hated him. but I loved him!

My. mother, be she cursed, threw me out of the house aftgr I dropped out of high school at 16. But my brother, every night, came into the ghetto where I was living and gave me some money — for food and for shelter. When Mother died he inherited all the money, but he invited me to live in his house. Yes. he was my friend, my only friend, the only person in my world who understood me. my one and only friend. He was still better than I. At parties, after getting drunk, he ridiculed me in his own alcoholic stuper. I had to labor, hours at end, to live at his house for another day. So.
