To the editor:
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the great many people who helped make the “Putting on the Ritz” 4-H Benefit Fashion Show such a tremendous artistic and financial success.
This was truly a community-supported effort on behalf of the community and its young people. So many gave of themselves in so many ways that it would take a full page here to list them all individually. But we would like particularly to note Moregan Zale of Washington Antiques and Upholstery and Sam O’Connor for their loan of special period pieces and for their fine fashion advice. Also the kind generosity of Country Manor Gift Shop, Brookside Fruits and Crafts, Lyle Atkins, Calvin’s Fruit Market, Baldwin’s West End Shell, Hill Atkins, Elmer’s 66, Sperry ville Fruit Stand, Burke’s Fruit Market Sperryville, Huey Atkins, Sperryville Emporium, Jenkins’ Fruit Stand, Old Hollow Grocery, Wayland Fruit Stand, Snead Orchards and Carson Johnson, who all donated cider for the event, as well as Birgitt Thornhill and the many people who cooked and baked the delicious refreshments. We greatly appreciate the kind
