Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Campbell visited Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lockhart in Front Royal on Wednesday and all went shopping in Winchester. The Campbells visited their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lillard in Front Royal Thursday.
On Sunday the Campbells attended the Jenkins family reunion at Bing Crosby Stadium in Front Royal. Approximately 60 relatives and friends from Baltimore, Falls Church, Manassas, Leesburg, Winchester, Front Royal, Amissville and Washington attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Huffman of Luray accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Weakley to the Comer Post in Flint Hill Wednesday evening for dinner. Both couples were celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Joel Daczewitz and sons Gregg, Philip and Derek of WoodviUe honored the Kermit Weakleys with an anniversary dinner and cake on Thursday evening.
The Weakleys were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Pfalzgraf on a camping trip to Fairview Beach over the weekend.
We are glad to see Mrs. Kitty Updike back home after her stay in the hospital.
I enjoyed the luncheon Thursday at the Rappahannock News office given by Mrs. Barbara Burke to welcome our new editor, Paul McFarlane, and photographer, Greg Turner. The company was great and the food delicious.

For those who did not pay their federal income taxes and thought Uncle Sam forgot about you, think again.
The Internal Revenue Service is sending notices from its IRS Center in Memphis to those Virginians who did not pay their federal income taxes.
In addition to the taxes owed, the IRS will tack on additional amounts for interest and penalty charges.
As of July 1, interest was being charged at a rate of 11% per year. Between January and June, the rate was
