Museum seeks
resident artist The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is accepting applications through Oct. 15 for its artist-in-residence program for the 1986-87 season. Each year, the museum organizes a team of selected artists and crafts professionals to share their expertise with Virginians across the state. In each locality they visit, artists in residence generally provide an evening lecture or lecture-demonstration and then a one-day workshop to encourage hands-on experience in a specific medium or technique. This season, the museum located in Richmond is sponsoring artists in watercolor, landscape painting, wax painting, pieced-quilt design, drawing in color, clay sculpture, charcoal portraiture, banner art, Japanese painting on silk, three-tone contour drawing, instant-image slide photography and weaving.
