For Rappahannock County public school teachers, the summer ends this week.
New teachers, and there are about 15 newcomers expected, are to report to their schools tomorrow. Experienced teachers report Monday for five work days in preparation for the 1985-86 school year. Students report for their first day of classes on Aug. 26.
Let’s get the new year off to a good start.
In addition to doing what we all can to make this a safe year for the youth of our county, let’s make a special effort to improve their minds.
Teachers will be the first to say they need support from parents and other family members to do their jobs properly. Students need positive reinforcment of work habits, completing homework, discussing problems they may be having with a subject or just some time to talk about troubles they may be having with their classmates.
