Monday, around 4 o’clock, the

spray airplane piloted by Cecil Cathy made a forced landing in the field of Bossy Williams while the cornfields of Flip Chadded at the Black Rock Valley were being sprayed.

The spraying gear was damaged, but the pilot escaped unhurt. The plane was forced down by engine trouble and would have to be trucked back to Richmond.

James W. Fletcher of Sperryville was elected vice president of the Piedmont District at a meeting of the Virginia Bar Association held at White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.

A wind and rain storm lashed

Rappahannock County with the most severe portions being recorded in the Ben Venue and Amissville areas.

A large hayfield barn at Bunree, the farm of D. H. Laing at Amissville, collapsed with bales of hay tumbling from both sides. A tractor was pinned inside the barn.

Mrs. A. C. Latham reported that a locust tree blew over in her front yard.
