Frazier reunion The Frazier family reunion will be held on August 17 at the Rappahannock Recreational Park. All relatives and friends are invited. Dinner will be at 12:30 p.m.
‘The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai9 The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai will be featured on August 17 and 18 at the Gay St. Theatre beginning at 7:30 p.m. 'Hie film stars Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum and Ellen Bar kin. Buckaroo Banzai is the hero to beat all heroes - brain surgeon, race car driver, physicist and leader of the Hong Kong Cavaliers, his team of rock star/scientists who are out to save the world from aliens. This wild and charming tale benefits from the inventiveness of director W. D. Richter and the performances of fine actors such as Jeff Goldblum and John Lithgow. Buckaroo Banzai has already become a cult hit and a favorite on college campuses. The film is rated PG.
Family Reunion The Woodard, Jenkins, Clatterbuck Reunion will be held on August 18 at the Washington Fire Hall on West Business 211 in Washington. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Please bring a covered dish.
Auxiliary plans food sale The Sperryville Ladies Ausiliary will sell food at the Rappahannock Hunt’s first horse show at Montpelier on August 18. Montpelier is located on Route 231 south of Sperryville. All donations will be appreciated, and all of the proceeds will be used by the Auxiliary for work on the Sperryville Fire Hall. Dance series Angie Howard’s new dance series, sponsored by the Child Care and Learning Center, will begin August 20 at the Gay Street Theatre. Classes are offered to pre-school children beginning at 4:30 p.m. and to school age children starting at 5 p.m. Another enrichment program will begin soon if enough interest is shown. Nursing Open House At Germanna The Nursing Department of Germanna Community College announces a transfer agreement with the University of Virginia offering transfer credit for nursing courses taken at Germanna from 1980 to present. In the past, all nursing courses from one institution to another have had to be challenged before being accepted. An open house will be held at the Germanna campus on August 21 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. to discuss the new program. Representatives from both Germanna and UVA will be on hand to advise interested students on the program requirements. For additional information call Germanna at 703-399-1333.
