Registration for returning students at Germanna Community College began August 12, and new students may register for courses September 5 and 6. The hours for registration are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
Germanna will offer three new programs this year. The career studies certificate was designed for recent high school graduates and people who are currently working but want to improve their promotion opportunities. One year certificate options are available in the areas of supervision, real estate and computer information processing.
Germanna is also offering a one year certificate in business and office technology. Certificate options include word processing, clerk-typist, executive secretary, medical secretary and legal secretary. The program is designed to train basic level practitioners for the technological demands of the office. It combines instruction in many areas required for competence in business, government, industry and other fields.
In the past, Germanna has offered one area of concentration in the business management degree program, but will offer three specializations in the fall.
