Counseling farmers
The Extension Service is coordinating a newly developed Farm Financial Counseling Program within 18 counties in the Northern District.
This program is supported by the district staff along with nine trained volunteers who are well-qualified to work with farmers who may be having some financial difficulties.
All the assistance is done on a oneon-one basis and is kept strictly confidential.
Volunteers will collect financial information at the farnuap^ „$he Extension Service will analyze the situation and offer alternatives to improve it.
Farmers do not have to be in severe financial distress to take advantage of this program.
A producer with a currently strong operation may be able to avoid future problems by using the Farm Financial Counseling Program.
This specially funded project is a free service to the farmers of Rappahannock County. Interested farmers can learn more about the program or schedule an appointment with one of the volunteers by calling the Extension office at 675-3619.
