Wetton noticed language differences during his conversations with Currie. “We would be talking, and then we’d laugh because of the different phrases we had for the same things.
“I’m going to tell my classes that if there is anything I say that they don’t understand, they should ask me w'hat I mean.”
Wetton said that he was eager to come to the U.S., but he realized how long he would be away from home when his family and friends told him goodbye.
