During the summer months, Rappahannock’s painters, writers, craftspeople and dancers have been busy showing off their work or preparing for the fall.
The following is a partial list of artistic activity within the county and its reaches throughout the state and country.
• Gary Genther, watercolorist and egg tempera painter, is currently exhibiting at Cudhy’s in Richmond with other work in small galleries in Alexandria, Georgetown, Middletown and the Small Farmers Market here in Washington. He’ll be the subject of a oneman show at Middle St. Gallery in the Spring of 1986.
• J. Scott Robinson had a piece accepted in the National Watercolor Competition Exhibition, being shown in a museum in Mississippi.
• Robin Purnell is working daily on portraits and landscapes for a show at Middle St. Gallery in November.
• Sam Clifton is now a restoration consultant for stained-glass church windows and is also designing stained glass for new churches. Clifton is
