Pottery Classes
Pottery and glazing classes will be on the schedule this fall at Lord Fairfax Community CoUege.
Introduction to Pottery will cover the fundamentals of wheel throwing for beginners and offer individualized instruction for advanced students. The class will meet on Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m.
Pottery Glazing and Decorating is scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10. Beginning and advanced students will explore a variety of c corating techniques and glaze experiments designed to give a basic k^ov 'edge of glaze characteristics.
B courses may be applied towards a certificate in ceramics. Registration for returning students is August 22 and open registration is September 3, 4, and 5 from 1 to 7 p.m. Call 869-1120 for further information.
Truck And Tractor Pull
A four wheel drive Truck and Tractor Pull will be held on Saturday, August 24, at the carnival grounds at the Amissville Fire Department on Route 211,12 miles west of Warrenton.
Weigh-in for the trucks and tractors will be at noon, and the pull will start at 1 p.m. Pulls will be held for modified trucks and tractors, street trucks and farm tractors. There will also be three-wheel, all terrain drags and big wheel races for two age groups of children.
The pull is sanctioned by the Old Dominion Tractor Pull. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $7, and children under 12 will be admitted at no charge. In case of rain, the pull will be held on August 25.
Woman’s Club meeting
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on August 27 at 8 p.m. at the home of Barbara Burke in Sperryville.
Marion Eastham Facchina from the Hunt Country Nursing Services in Warrenton will be the guest speaker. All members are urged to attend.
