one-man show of miniatures and paintings at Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville this October.
• Maggie Cassen, who arrived in Woodville from New York City this month, left her loft in Soho to come paint in the southern light and quiet peace of Virginia. She will be looking towards finding a gallery in Washington, D. C., after creating a series of paintings during the winter.
• Janet Kerig, Jeanne Drevas and Cathy Kiley will be having a show of functional and sculptural contemporary baskets at the Worth Gallery on P Street in Washington, D. C., from the end of September to December. Kerig will also be demonstrating basket-making at the Culpeper Fest Saturday.
• Daphne Hutchinson, former Rappahannock News editor, is working as a free-lance editor, producing newsletters for Trinity Episcopal Church, the Mid-Fauquier Association and the Virginia Association of Biological Farmers. Hutchinson also does free-lance public relations work and edits individual books as well as those publications she regularly edits. Her articles appear in local magazines, including Country and Virginia Country.
