Homemakers trip to Baltimore
The Rappahannock Extension Homemakers are sponsoring a trip to Baltimore on April 9. The cost of the round trip bus ride is $16 and the group rate to enter the Aquarium will be $4.75 and $3.25 for senior citizens. There are restaurants of all price ranges and picnic areas for lunch. There are also many interesting places to shop.
The trip is open to anyone interested, first-come, first-served, so please reserve your spot on the bus by taking your $16 check by the Extension Office as soon as possible.
The bus will depart Rappahannock County at 8:00 a.m. The place of departure will be announced later, make plans to be there by 7:45 a.m. The group will be leaving Baltimore at 4:00 p.m. and estimated return time is 6:00 p.m. Make plans to be there!
Intermediate Beekeeping course
A course in Intermediate Beekeeping will be given on Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22, at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. As in the past, the course is sponsored by the Beekeepers Association of Northern Virginia, Loudoun and Prince William Counties, and the Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association. The tuition is $15, but credit for Association dues will be deducted from that amount.
Dr. Fell from Virginia Tech will speak, and beginning beekeepers, as well as those with some experience, are urged to attend. The course will be held on Friday, March 21, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (registration is at 6:30 p.m.) and on Saturday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The college is located on Rt. 234 at 1-66 in Manassas. ‘Coping with the blahs9
A workshop series on “Coping with the blahs” will be held on Tuesday, April 1, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal parish hall. The session is free and open to all members of the community.
Lee Nettles, Clinic Site Supervisor of Family Guidance Services of Rappahannock County, will lead the workshop.
Other topics in the series will include “Discipline and Children”, “Coping with Alzheimer’s Disease”, “Substance Abuse” and “Religion and Mental Health.”
‘Changing Voices’
“Changing Voices, the Southern Literary Renaissance” book disucssion series continues at the Library Monday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Jennifer Jordan of Howard University will lecture on Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Huston.
The Rappahannock County Library will be closed Saturday, March 29, for Easter vacation.
