available
Lord Fairfax Community College and its Board of Directors announces the availability of 24 Presidential and College Board scholarships to be awarded for the 1986-87 academic year.
The scholarships, which will be awarded to incoming Freshmen from the college service region, are based on high school grade point average, letter of recommendation, list of extra curricular activities, and student statements.
Applicants must have applied and been accepted as a full-time student at Lord Fairfax and submitted a completed scholarship application on or before May 1, 1986 to be considered.
Also included in the scholarship application procedures is a letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal, employer, guidance counselor, or community member not related to the applicant.
The final criteria is a brief statement by the student which identifies in general terms their interest in either an occupational-technical program or a college transfer program at Lord Fairfax Community College.
Selection of the recipients will be made by the Scholarship Committee with the approval of the President and local board.
