Mr. Heddleston called his 18player roster “promising.” “The team’s a good mix of veteran and first-year players,” he said. The roster includes five freshmen, six sophomores and two juniors. Among other possible starters in the infield are freshman Doug Smith and his brother, sophomore Greg Smith, who hit 350 last spring.
