United States Senator Paul Trible today urged Virginians to speak out against a nuclear waste site in upcoming hearings on the proposal.
“I am adamantly opposed to locating a nuclear waste storage site in Virginia. I have joined Congressman Dan Daniel and Senator John Warner in sponsoring legislation that would •exclude Virginia from any site selection process. But it is essential that Virginians raise their voices in opposition,” Senator Trible said.
The Department of Energy has scheduled three public hearings in Virginia during the next few weeks. The hearings will be at the Bedford Educational Center Auditorium on March 24th; at the Halifax County Senior High School on March 26th; and at the South Anna Elementary School on April 7th.
