This is only one of several wonderful rabbit books in the children’s section. Others include The Easter Egg Artists by Adrienne Adams (1976). This is the story of the Abbots, a rabbit-artist family whose biggest job is decorating Easter eggs until their son, Orson, playfully discovers some bigger art projects.
One of the loveliest rabbit books I’ve seen is Peter Cottontail’s Surprise by Greg Hildebrandt (1985). The paintings in this book actually glow with life as a little bunny enjoys his first day of spring, and incidentally discovers it is his birthday.
