Mr. Von Fange, reporting that he employs three local people, uses local lumber and produces “a nice product.” Customers “come from all over” to see the tables and other furniture pieces on display in his Sperryville showroom, Mr. Von Fange added. “Hopefully this is what the zoning administration is aiming to have in villages a small commercial operation.”
He noted that the site, which is owned by former StonewallHawthome District Supervisor H. B. Wood, has been a commercial shop for 150 years. “I cleaned it up, put some machinery in . . . There have been no complaints at all for four years,” Mr. Von Fange told the Planning Commissioners.
