Coach Leake said "I would have liked to see a different result, but . . "he added smiling, “We’re young - we didn't do too bad "
The Panthers Junior Varsity also lost a close contest to the visitorfrom Lura\ by a score of 23 to 17.

In a hard fought match held at Rappahannock High on Thursday, October 9, Wakefield narrowly ehierged the winnet bv a score ot 2 1
Playing aggressive soccer, the Owls scored two goals in the first twenty minutes of the game. The first Wakefield goal was scored by Ed Havre; the second by George Gonzales.
Soon after the second Wrakefield goal, the Panthers were awarded a controversial goal which Wakefield Coach Uli Maeyer vigorously protested. The ball had landed uut of bounds atop the rear supporting goal post, and in a freak bounce, returned in-bounds where it was quickly headed into the goal by Panther forward Mai'k Butler.
The return soccer match will be held at Wakefield on Friday, October 24 at 4 p.m.
