Both Mr. Von Fange’s shop and the Sakalaucks’ residence are very close to Route 522; between the two buildings, a narrow alley serves as access to Route 522, the attorney noted. On occasion, Mr. Von Fange has displayed large pieces of furniture in front of his shop, interfering with visibility of drivers trying to enter the road from the alley, Mr. Reynolds said. He added that the furniture maker also stores lumber under the front porch of the shop. “It’s not the type of display you’d want in front of a building that close to a residence,” he maintained.
